What are the causes of trucking accidents?
When a semi-truck or tractor-trailer causes an accident, more often than
not, an error or mistake by that truck driver is just the tip of the iceberg
as to what really caused that accident. Was the driver tired or fatigued
because he or she had been operating for more hours in that day or that
week than they are permitted to by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations?
Was that truck driver filling out their log books properly and honestly
reporting their hours of service? Was the trucking company properly monitoring
and documenting the driver’s hours of service as they’re legally
required to? So it’s important to understand all of these rules
and regulations to be able to delve in and figure out what really happened
here. Was this really just a driver making an error, or was there more
going on here than meets the eye? And having an attorney who understands
that is the most important thing for a successful result in any trucking case.
